Last month, I got to photograph a few family sessions at a gorgeous sunflower field in Grove City, Pa.  And I just heard there’s one more sunflower field about to bloom this season! Artwork Refresh: What’s New in 2022?

Over the next week or so, I’ll be updating my portfolio with images from 2021, but for now, I am excited to share my new home page slideshow featuring artwork I’ve created for my clients. My desire to help families preserve their photography is a response to a growing concern that I’ve heard echoed over the past decade: organizing and printing digital photos is overwhelming. That overwhelm leads to procrastination and then procrastination to an underlying anxiousness that we won’t be able to find our photos when we finally have time to do something with them.

I’ve noticed a bit of a trend toward large family portraits this year. It must be related to families being apart during the pandemic. And these families have inspired me to capture our extended family as well. It is so meaningful to see everyone together, especially after these past two years.

Photographing Safely in a Pandemic: Maternity Through First Birthday Sessions

One of my favorite things about being a family photographer is getting to photograph a family through the milestones. It is so much fun to see a family grow and help them to capture that growth. I first met this family for their maternity and newborn sessions. And last month, we got to document their daughter’s first birthday. It was a bit mind-blowing for me to realize that all happened during this pandemic. But these are the good things that make me so thankful that I can work and keep my clients safe.
