First birthdays are a big deal and a wonderful occasion for a photoshoot.  Sometimes it’s a walk at a park and other times it’s a cake smash and bubble bath, but this time, we went for a classic look including putting together a heirloom portrait composite.  And I never thought I’d use a reverse vignette, where the edges of a photograph fade to white, but I am loving this look!

This baby’s mama wanted a white backdrop and dressed her sweetie in a smocked romper and smocked dress.  And when she booked her session, she mentioned her concern about her one-year old sitting for a session.  I assured her, we’d keep it interesting and by using natural light in the studio, we didn’t have to be limited to one spot and even captured her crawling across the studio.

Regardless of the type of session, capturing a first birthday is so special because you can really see baby’s personality and celebrate a tremendous year of growth.  Please reach out if you’re ready to capture a milestone in your family!
