I didn’t see it coming, but it was a necessary transition from a busy schedule of shooting weddings (think pumping in a reception venue rest room!), but as a mom, I found that portraits came naturally to me and my boys have trained me well in the art of capturing busy bodies!
Pittsburgh Senior Portraits: McConnell’s Mill State Park

And it was so much fun as a photographer to do two sessions with this family in one day, both at McConnell’s Mill State Park. We started at 8 a.m. for the senior session and then came back again for the family session at 4:30 for the best lighting.

And this personal branding session for a Cranberry dermatologist was an uplifting start to my day. Pittsburgh Skin’s motto is “keeping Pittsburgh skin healthy” and this session with Dr. Vélez’s early morning run on the North Shore reflects her positive approach to staying healthy.
Family Portraits Through the Tween Years
/by kmillerEvery now and then, I photograph a family when a child is about to graduate high school and learn that they haven’t been photographed as a family since the kids were babies. And I really feel for them, although I try to keep that to myself to avoid adding to any regret they’re already experiencing. Sometimes coordinating busy schedules for a photoshoot is that one task that just feels like too much where there are so many other things competing for our attention. As encouragement to any families out there who haven’t been photographed in a while, I thought I’d share this fun session from a family with two daughters who are in the tween years.
