Pittsburgh Wedding Photography at Knoxville Presbyterian and Wendell Inn

Aimee and John tied the knot two Saturdays ago on a bright Fall day.  Their wedding day brought with it two new venues (well new to me, and it’s always nice to add new venues to the list) with the ceremony at Knoxville United Presbyterian Church in the South Hills.  What a lovely little church tucked right in the middle of a Pittsburgh neighborhood.   And it was just a short drive to their reception at the Wendell Inn, a large old building that looks like it might once have been a school with a beautiful ballroom on the top floor.  Anyway, I’m getting out of order here, let’s start with Aimee and her bridesmaids getting ready at the Marriott Spring Hill Suites at the Southside Works.

getting ready for the ceremony

The ceremony took place in the afternoon and the light was just billowing in through the large windows in the sanctuary. The first image in this next series is the moment after Aimee’s dad gives her away. I think this is what they mean by blushing bride. She’s so sweet!

I like how the interior of the church really matches their Fall color palate. And after the ceremony, we paused for a few shots in front of the church door. The light was just gorgeous and Aimee couldn’t be more lovely!

Then we headed over to the Hot Metal Bridge for some shots of the bridal party. If you see the string of bras hanging along the upper right beams of the bridge, they’re a homage to breast cancer awareness. It was a really pretty and fun display!

From there, we went to Mt. Washington on our way back to the reception for a few shots in the sunshine. After Aimee and John were announced, their cake cutting took place right away.

Ches’ Anthony’s did a great job of catering the dinner and it wasn’t long before the party kicked off with Aimee and John’s first dance.

All in all, it was a beautiful day. There are many more photos to come, but I’ll save those for the web gallery. Congratulations Aimee and John! Many blessings to you and your marriage!

I loved working with Kate and Alex, they were not just photographers, they helped the entire day feel relaxed and organized. Our limo had a broken radiator and we took the photos on the church steps while waiting for transportation, and in that moment we captured my favorite shots. I am so excited to see the rest of the photos!!!!!
