How to book a session?

Send me a message and I’ll follow up to schedule a quick phone call so that I can better understand your vision for the session.  We’ll also discuss availability and I’ll put together a booking proposal that will officially reserve your session. Your session fee is due at the time of booking.

What kind of sessions do you offer?

I specialize in on-location lifestyle photography and offer maternity, newborn, children’s, family, and senior portrait sessions.  Sessions take place at the location of your choice—in your home, a nearby park, or someplace special to personalize your session.   Check out my Locations page for nearby suggestions.  Sessions are customized to your needs and can take place in a location that reflects a passion or hobby, or simply embrace the beauty of everyday life.

Do you do weddings?

Yes!  I started this business over ten years ago photographing weddings and still love to photograph them to this day, but I don’t have as much time to dedicate to weddings as I used to, so I accept a limited number of bookings in engagement and wedding photography each year so that I can give my wedding clients a great experience.  My wedding coverage starts at $1500 for 6 hours. Contact me about availability and I’d be happy to chat with you and learn all about your wedding plans.

What is your photographic style?

I like to mix lifestyle photography with creative portraiture to capture everyday beauty in the best light. My style has a natural feel with an emphasis on emotion and personality rather than props and backdrops. And shooting your session on-location, whether it be in your home or some other place that’s special to you, makes your portraits even more personal, documenting your life in that given time and place. I also have a studio space in Zelienople just off of I-79 N.

What do I get with my session?

Your one-hour session includes a $200 credit toward retouched digital files, professional prints and other photographic products as well as 30 or more edited digital proofs (chosen by the photographer) with permission to print for personal use. Your proofs will be delivered via an online gallery (active for one month) where you can download the full-resolution files, place an order, and share with family and friends!

What are professional prints?

Professional prints by Captivating Imagery are printed at our lab for accuracy and highest quality.  I offer a 100% money-back guarantee if you’re not satisfied with your professional print order.

Can I share a session with another family?

Session fees cover the immediate family only. Please contact us to discuss multi-family portrait options. Photographing larger groups requires more time, especially if you’re also planning for portraits of each individual family.

What if I need to reschedule?

If you need to reschedule, please get in touch 24-hours in advance of your session. When rescheduling, please keep in mind that sessions book anywhere from two months to two weeks in advance.

What if the weather does not cooperate on the day of my session?

If inclement weather or other adverse conditions interfere with your session, I’ll be in touch to discuss relocating or rescheduling the session.

When should I book my maternity or newborn session?

Maternity and newborn sessions are best booked during the second trimester of your pregnancy so that we can anticipate these time-sensitive sessions as you get closer to your due date. The best time to photograph your maternity session is between weeks 34 and 36 of pregnancy. The best time for a newborn session is within the baby’s first two weeks when babies are sleep more and are less fussy.  However, with a lifestyle approach, it’s fine for the baby to be awake during the session and less likely that your baby will be fussy because he or she will be in your arms most of the time. Without the need to do outfit changes and posing, babies are more content.
