A few months back, I shared a link to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette regarding their Celebrations section where brides and grooms can share news about their weddings and anniversaries.
Danielle and Chris who were married in August sent their info to the paper and their wedding was published yesterday.
Click here to see their photo and Q&A interview on the P-G’s Web site. I love how they met at an afternoon concert in Pittsburgh’s Market Square. How cool is that? Plus, their song is Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls, which is one of my favorites! I like the Q&A format because you really get to learn more about the couple that way. Cheers to Danielle and Chris!

Corry and Mike were married on a beautiful October evening at the Mattress Factory on Pittsburgh’s North Side.
Some of the photos of Corry and Mike in this post are from their post-honeymoon shoot. They were running short on time during the day of their wedding and decided to schedule a separate shoot for their creative photos to allow for more time during their reception.
Their ceremony took place under a tent in the museum’s garden and the reception was held in the Matress Factory Cafe, just through the glass doors along the garden’s terrace.
This creative couple chose the Mattress Factory as their venue because their guests could tour the museum during the reception. It also offered an urban backdrop for their photography.
Corry and Mike are photographers and videographers and through their work on many weddings, they had a keen sense for just what they wanted their wedding to be like and their music was really important. I loved just about every song on their playlist. Then to add some excitement after the boquet and garter toss, a swing band marched into the reception playing When the Saints Go Marching In. The Neon Swing Experience turned up the excitement with their charismatic personalities and swinging tunes.
My favorite memory of their evening was the traditional Polish bridal dance. It’s also known as the money dance, but I’ve never seen one quite like this before. Guests lined up to dance with the bride and the maid of honor collected money their money at the front of the line. Next to her stood the best man with a tray of shots. Guests took a shot and took one to the bride and danced with her for a few turns. The polka song looped on and on so that everyone could take a turn and then the crowd surrounded the bride so that the groom would have to make his way through the crowd. Once he touched her hand, the crowd dispersed. It was a really joyful moment and everyone shared in the fun.
Congratulations Corry and Mike. Blessings to you and your marriage!
