While you may not feel beautiful at the moment, it’s a joy for others around you to see that bump grow. And looking back, you and your child will appreciate seeing that round belly where you nurtured them as they grew! You can bring your own attire or choose from our studio wardrobe featuring beautiful maternity gowns and silks from Europe. Maternity sessions are best scheduled between weeks 30 and 36. To schedule, please reach out during your second trimester so that we can plan ahead for wardrobe and location. Many of our maternity sessions take place in the studio, but an on-location maternity session is also a great option if you’re up for it!

Our Process
In Seven Simple Steps
- Book your session online or reach out to Kate with any questions and she can email you a booking proposal when you’re ready to reserve your session.
- Your session is entered into Captivating Imagery’s system. You’ll receive a welcome email as well as a questionnaire to help plan your session.
- It’s time for your photoshoot! Plan to arrive at the studio or the designated location 10 minutes prior to your session so you’re not rushed. We’ll work together to create something beautiful!
- Ready to see your photos? Come into the studio for a photo reveal where Kate will help you narrow down your selections and take detailed retouching notes, or request an online gallery and make your selections on your own.
- Retouched files are delivered within two weeks of making your selections.
- Our design team will follow up to offer wall art and albums starting at $345. Your session includes a $100 artwork credit!
- Artwork is delivered to your home within four weeks of placing your order.

The Artwork
Following your session, Kate will put together a photo reveal and you’re invited to come into the studio to see your photography projected on the big screen. You’ll see mock-ups of artwork featuring your images as well as sample artwork in the studio. Our framed prints and heirloom albums are handcrafted and unsurpassed in quality.
Our heirloom albums feature your images beautifully and best of all, you can go back and turn through the pages of your story over and over again.
Meet the Photographer
Kate Miller has been photographing babies and families in Pittsburgh for 17 years and has had her own studio in Cranberry for three years. During her free time, she enjoys trying new recipes, walking her Sheepadoodle, and going on adventures with her family.
I could only recommend Kate! We took a photo session with my husband and the results are stunning. She is very sensitive and have a good eye for composing and creating spectactular scenery. Kate is also very helpful and friendly, everything went so easy and we didn’t have to wait for the photos long time.

How do I prepare for my maternity session?
If you’re bringing in your own wardrobe, have it hanging and ironed or steamed the night before your session. Moisturize your skin and apply chapstick before going to bed. Allow enough time to wake up for your regular morning routine (coffee, breakfast, getting ready).
What should I wear?
If you would like assistance with planning your wardrobe, Kate is happy to help. Please just let her know.
Do you offer hair and makeup?
Yes! You can add on hair and makeup to your session and we’ll coordinate with a team of stylist to meet you at the studio.
What can be done to make me look my best?
Kate pays close attention to creating flattering lighting and can addresses any concerns about your look that are related to your pregnancy during retouching.
