Spring is getting closer, but it’s not quite time for outdoor photos.  And while it’s still cold outside, I’m feeling black-and-white vibes.  If you like the timeless look of black-and-white portraits and are in need of an updated portrait of you family,  please reach out.  I’m scheduling sessions for March 19th in Cranberry Township.  And to give you an idea of what I have in mind, I photographed my own family, which is always my toughest job.  I have a feeling someone out there can relate!  To start, I’ll share the shot that relieved us of our misery!  Thank heavens!

We look pretty pleasant, right?  Well, to tell the whole story, it was chaos.  The kids were running amok, I chased them with a comb for a bit and then sat down and Brad and I discussed if we should just call it a day.  And I captured this shot, which makes us both laugh.  After almost 15 years of marriage, he knows how much it means to me to be able to see this vision through, and I’m thankful he encouraged me to keep trying.  He’s also good at lightening the mood with awesome dad jokes.  Thanks Honey!

I’m loving this unexpected moment when my youngest took an interest in the captures that were coming through the app on my iPad.  He stopped for a moment and just snuggled in and I’m so happy to have captured his snaggletooth smile.

And here’s one last funny image, that is a good reminder to me that it’s better to create a moment than to force it.  My oldest was really trying amidst my prompts to stand still, look at the camera, and smile!

All this to say, I get that photographing your own family can be challenging.  And I also get the desire that motivates us to go to such lengths: we just want to remember those sweet faces.  So if you’re in need of an update, let me help you out!  I promise, I’m much more effective on the other side of the camera!  Please get in touch to find out more.
