I’m a sucker for baby boys all dressed up.  I guess that comes from being a boy mom and wanting to have fun dressing my babies in tiny suspenders and wingtip shoes.  So when this family dressed to match their little man, I felt a kinship and knew we’d have a lot of fun during their session.

I’m just sharing the first half of their session and will save the photos in his Harry Potter-themed nursery for later.  This first part of the session took place in their living room which had an abundance of soft window light.

This three-month old baby was asleep when I arrived.  His parents wanted to wait to schedule their session until he had his first round of immunizations.  This year, I enjoyed photographing lots of 3-month old babies as many families waited longer to keep their babies safe during the pandemic.

Father and son -

When this little one awoke, he was certainly cautious with having someone new in his house.  And I noticed that he was really curious about my camera.  That’s part of the fun of photographing older babies, they are developing personalities and are so much more interactive at this stage.

I’m in the process of designing this family’s album and am really enjoying seeing it come together.  Albums are a great way to display images from newborn sessions, because they can tell the story of these moments, preserving them for days ahead when it’s hard to remember just what it was like.  I’m coming up on 10 years of being a mama and being able to look back on those days is such a gift.

If you’d like to schedule a newborn session, I’d love to talk with you.  Please reach out!
