Children’s portraits have always fascinated me. Not being a mother myself, I can really appreciate how mothers can encourage the tiniest of babies to smile and no less, soothe their crying. This is all the more important in the studio when the photographer has the perfect shot lined up, it’s truly magic when it all comes together. Here are a few sweet portraits of some of the cutest little ladies in my neighborhood.

Natalie and Chuck were married at First Lutheran Church of Pittsburgh and their reception was at the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel. They planned to have their ceremony and reception downtown so that guests would be able to stay in the city. A shuttle provided transportation to and from the ceremony.
Doesn’t Natalie look stunning in this swanky setting?
Chuck and his entourage look dapper in this action shot. They are men on a mission.
The Lutheran church’s sanctuary was a breath-taking setting for the couple’s nuptials.
We walked to Mellon Square for some photos by the fountain.
Here is one of my favorites of Natalie and Chuck.
We also stopped by the Clemente Bridge on our way to the reception. The bridge was closed to traffic that night because of the Pirates game.
Here’s a favorite of Natalie on the grand staircase at the hotel.
Here’s a sweet moment during the cake cutting.
Natalie reminds me of Princess Diana in this photo of their first dance.
What a beautiful day. Congratulations Natalie and Chuck!

Renee and Orland are planning an October wedding and they decided to set downtown Pittsburgh as the location for their engagement session. We had an early morning start at the point which is usually a fabulous setting. Unfortunately, the fountain was not operating that morning and we were surprised to find a lot of litter. Not to be discouraged, we walked across the sidewalk along the Fort Duquesne Bridge to the more polished North Shore with spectacular views of the city and freshly landscaped surroundings.
Here’s a favorite from this diversion:
I love the texture of this concrete and the moody feel of the city:
Here’s a nice view of this sweet couple from one of the many bridges along the Allegheny River.
And lastly, my favorite by the willow trees lit by the morning sun. You can just feel the love in this one.
This couple was so much fun to photograph. Renee and Orland, I’m looking forward to your wedding this fall!

Here are a few more photos from Sarah’s and Mikes’s wedding at Phipps Conservatory.
I love Sarah’s expression in this candid moment during their ceremony. She looks stunning as she looks over her shoulder at her sister.
The new Mr. and Mrs. take a pause before they walk down the aisle.
If I could do my wedding over again, I’d totally have this cake. I love those Muppets cake toppers and the cake was delish too!
Time to celebrate with some bubbly!
Cheers to Sarah and Mike!
Goodness gracious, are they the cutest flower girl and ring bearer you ever saw?
Here’s the groom and his compadres. They totally laughed at me when I told them to be tough guys.
Sarah and Mike, under the tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g!
And another kiss, but this time in the biergarten at the Hofbrauhaus in Pittsburgh’s South Side where they held a very fun and playful reception.
Their first date was in Germany, so the German atmosphere at the Hofbrauhaus held special meaning to them.
What’s really sweet though, is that this couple has known each other growing up and they actually dated for a few weeks in grade school! Sarah and Mike, congratulations to you!

Sarah and Mike were married at the beautiful Phipp’s Conservatory in Oakland. Here are a few of my favorites from the first round of edits:
