5 Reasons to Schedule Your Maternity Session Now

The pregnant body is beautiful, so don’t miss this opportunity to schedule a maternity session.  While you may not feel beautiful at the moment, it’s a joy for others around you to see that bump grow.  And if you think about it, the uterus your baby is growing in started out the size of your fist and will expand until it’s just below your breastbone.  And your body created a whole organ (the placenta) to support your baby while it grows.  It’s simply amazing, which leads me to the first reason.

Studio Newborn Session with the Whole Family

I’m often asked by families if my newborn sessions are limited to just babies.  And this surprises me because I feel the family is a very important part in the story of a newborn.   I absolutely encourage the whole family to be a part of the session and that sometimes even includes the family dog!  I remember back to when my youngest son was born.  One of my main desires for his newborn session was capturing my two boys together.  And I feel the same way about capturing baby with each parent.  To me, that is more important than having lots of posed images of baby alone.

Maternity Portraits at Cranberry Photo Studio

This maternity session in the studio is the start of something beautiful.  This sweet mama and her baby on the way is the main story.  And the backstory is that there are lots of maternity and newborn sessions on the horizon and I couldn’t be happier!  Focusing on this niche has allowed me to explore new techniques and offerings like this overhead angle, mixing studio and natural light and a new wardrobe of maternity gowns, newborn swaddles and knitted things.  I feel like a kid at Christmas!

Closing 2022 with Gratitude and Looking to 2023 with Great Expectation

2022 has been a good year for me; I was blessed to open a studio in June and fill my calendar with capturing so much beauty.  I’m looking forward to 2023 and especially excited to narrow my focus on maternity, newborn and families.  It’s what I know best and it’s so wonderful to help families celebrate as they grow.

Pittsburgh Newborn Photographer: Studio Session

Staying at home for your newborn session is nice, but going to a natural light studio that is outfitted with all of the comforts of home might be better.  This Pittsburgh mom and dad thought so and as a photographer I whole-heartedly agree.  They even brought their dog to be included in some of the photos!
