Artwork Refresh: What’s New in 2022?

Over the next week or so, I’ll be updating my portfolio with images from 2021, but for now, I am excited to share my new home page slideshow featuring artwork I’ve created for my clients. My desire to help families preserve their photography is a response to a growing concern that I’ve heard echoed over the past decade: organizing and printing digital photos is overwhelming. That overwhelm leads to procrastination and then procrastination to an underlying anxiousness that we won’t be able to find our photos when we finally have time to do something with them.

Small Business Photographer: How I Got Here

Honestly, this wasn’t on my radar 13 years ago.  And I feel like a bit of an outsider, but I think that will change with time.  I felt the same way when I started photographing weddings.  Over the past year, I’ve had a lot of great opportunities to help small businesses with (captivating) imagery to market their business.  And I think my experience of capturing many different types of portraits over the last 13 years translates well for small business photography.  I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes!

Oak Lodge: Pittsburgh Wedding Photography

This fun wedding at Oak Lodge in Donegal, Pa., had an unstoppable joy to it.  This sweet couple endured planning a wedding during the pandemic and all of the complications that come with that, and they darted in and out of rain getting ready for their ceremony and during their photos that followed.  But what really warmed my heart is when they decided to dance in the rain when it wouldn’t let up during their reception.  They weren’t going to allow a little rain to ruin their fun!

Cranberry Newborn Session: All Dressed Up And No Where to Go

I’m a sucker for baby boys all dressed up. I guess that comes from being a boy mom and wanting to have fun dressing my babies in tiny suspenders and wingtip shoes. So when this family dressed to match their little man, I felt a kinship and knew we’d have a lot of fun during their session.

Family Portraits: A Winter Walk at McConnells Mill State Park

As we turn the corner from cold to warm weather, I’ve been having the best time looking back on wintertime photo sessions. I photographed this sweet family of six on a snowy day at McConnells Mill State Park. For this family portrait session, we hiked together along Slippery Rock Creek and stopped along the way to capture warm family moments in the snow.
