Custom Newborn Photography

Having a baby is one of the most wonderful events we can experience in this life. I remember feeling like my life had really just begun when I first held my son in my arms. I also remember feeling a lot of pressure to make sure I captured all of the wonderful details of my newborn son and how exhausted I felt. And it all happens so quickly, so it’s really important to have a plan in place before your baby arrives so that you can be sure to capture this special time in your family. And once you do have your newborn session booked, it is a major weight off of your shoulders, which is a particular relief by the time you get to that third trimester!  If you’re expecting or in the process of adopting and looking for a photographer, check out some of my recent posts to see what custom newborn photography by Captivating Imagery is all about.

Hiring a photographer to capture your baby’s first year is one of the best investments you can make. As time goes by, your photos will become more and more precious to you and your family.

During the post-session consultation, I like to introduce clients to some of the products I recommend for preserving their memories, like framed prints, custom-designed albums, and image boxes.

Image boxes are a great way to display your favorite images, especially when you’re low on wall space. And they’re perfect for holding images from multiple sessions, like the newborn session, sit-up session, and baby’s first birthday. I’ll be sharing more products that are available for custom newborn photography in the coming months.

If you’re interested in booking a session with me, please check out my contact page and give me a call or send me an email. In order to ensure my clients have the best service possible, I limit the number of sessions I accept each month, so it’s best to contact me during your second trimester.

Announcing 2011 Holiday Cards by Captivating Imagery

It’s hard to believe it’s already November and the holiday season is right around the corner. So if you’re the type who likes to send custom holiday cards (I am! Our dog Brownie usually graces our Christmas cards…), it’s the time to start thinking about ordering yours before the Dec. 9th deadline. Here’s a sample for Katherine and Robert who were married this July at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. This design is great for newlyweds who’d like to share a wedding portrait with their family and friends. I also have designs for family and newborn portraits.

Christmas cards

These flat 4×5.5 cards are full-color and two-sided with space for you to write a message on the back. The cards include envelopes and are sold in sets of 25 for $35 (sales tax included).

Here’s what the back looks like:

I’m working on my order now so that I can have them ready to go before all the hustle and bustle begins. The turnaround time for design, printing and shipping is 10 days. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to email or call me. I’d be happy to talk with you!

Katie and John’s Pittsburgh Wedding Photography Album

It’s been a while since I photographed Katie and John’s Pittsburgh wedding and since I designed their wedding album, but I’m going to be spending the next few weeks blogging about things that I didn’t have time to get to this summer and fall. I’ve been busy working on albums and this is the first wedding of the summer, so it’s a good place for me to start.

Katie and John’s wedding was tons of fun. I shot it with Gene Yuger of Photorise Photography. In fact, when I get contacts about dates that I’m already booked for, Gene is one of the first photographers I recommend. He photographed my wedding and I can say from experience, that he’s fun to have around on your wedding day—not to mention the amazing images he creates. So anyway, some of the images in this album are by Gene as photographing a wedding is really a two-person job.
